I am a big fan of iPad magazines and have been sending huge mountains of paper magazines to the recycling bin. So I was delighted to check out Cooking Light which has been a long time favorite. Downloaded the app, decided to bypass an individual issue and go right for the online subscription as the magazine website advertised a great one year price. So tried unsuccessfully to purchase the subscription. Tried again a few days later and was successful until I realized I had just paid double for the paper subscription. When I called to have the transaction reversed I was told that the iPad subscription is only available to those who have a paper subscription. So hold off on this one until these folks get their act together.
Please update this app. for the new iPad. I could only read turned in one direction. Not everyone hold the table on the short side...
The magazine is good, the app is not. Good luck trying to log in after the first time. I wont buy another magazine with this app
I found this opened and viewed just like the mag. Pictures on my ipad were crystal clear and beautiful.
I bought a subscription last month through itunes, got first issue and all seemed well. I received notification about newest issue today, went to app in newsstand and have no way to download. Lots of support for print subscribers with problems. Pretty useless for people like me. Fix this ASAP please.
Wheres the recipe index??????????
Current update will delete all your issues and you will have to download them all again. Companys response is lame as they say updates are necessary. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DELETE ALL YOUR DATA AND COST YOU TIME AND MONEY TO DOWNLOAD 2 YEARS OF ISSUES. TERRIBLE PROGRAMMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have lost all my back issues and the app is telling me my subscription is inactive! Prior to loading this new app, I had no issues! I am trying to use app to contact customer service, but it does not seem to work.
Love the magazine, love having it on my ipad, hate that i can never figure out how to download the most recent issue
I just lost all back issues and my subscription. Awful user experience. Tip: you need to hire a better quality assurance team.
Paid for this subscription but cant get any magazines. It doesnt work. Dont waste your money.
Too many issues, wouldnt recommend this app. Have problems with account access! The bugs need to be resolved!!
The food tastes great but I have to agree that it does take getting used to the layout
I purchased my Cooking Light Subscription via Apples App Store and so there was no set up of a Cooking Light account but I would like to use this feature that is supposed to be part of the subscription. How can I do this? There is an in app help option but it says my request times out every time I try it. HELP!!!
With all the progress in apps @ CL gives us this sorry excuse . I want to be able to save recipes that are specific to my limited fat diet. I Luv the recipes I find & want to put them in one place.. You even eliminated the scan feature in the hard copy magazine ...poor choices for your audience.
I was hoping that I would be able to quickly navigate and save recipes via a search method. Im very disappointed.
Ive subscribed to Cooking Light for years and just downloaded the app. I thought it would be a great adjunct to the magazine and website, allowing me to search recipes and ingredients, save my favorites or plan meals. What a disappointment. I was surprised to see that you can only browse the magazine. I dont need an app that does less than the hard copy. At least with that I can tear out recipes wed like to try and place the keepers in a binder.
Not really useful. 1. You have to download the current issue (or any issue) to view it. 2. You cannot export recipes to an app like Anylist for meal planning and grocery shopping lists. Deleting this app (again). I had tried it before, then deleted it when I realized how limited it was. No improvements.
Regardless of what others say I had to see for myself. I enjoy this app. Everything that I need is at my finger tips. Good, fun, great reading and recipes for the home chef. Buy a wireless printer if you want to save the recipes. keep up the great work Cooking Lite.
